Our Commitment
Safeguarding Statement
Everyone who comes into contact with Puranda CIC has the right to be safe, respected and protected from harm.
Our commitment
Puranda CIC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk. Safeguarding is everybody's responsibility and is embedded in every service, programme and event we deliver.
How we work safely
Staff and volunteers are recruited safely, receive safeguarding training appropriate to their role, and work to clear codes of conduct. Where a role requires it, appropriate DBS checks are carried out. Risk assessments are completed for activities and venues.
Raising a concern
If you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child or an adult at risk, tell a member of the Puranda CIC team or contact us through our Contact page. Concerns are taken seriously, recorded, and referred to the relevant local authority or the police where necessary.
In an emergency
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. For confidential domestic abuse support in the UK, the National Domestic Abuse Helpline is available free, 24 hours a day, on 0808 2000 247.
Confidentiality
We handle safeguarding information sensitively and share it only with those who need to know in order to keep someone safe.
